Teacher Plan (the best) Parties!

If you have been following my blog for any length of time, you know how much I love to plan creative themed birthday parties for kids.  In fact, I think part of the reason I love it so much is because I have all this leftover creativity from when I was a teacher and planning children’s parties is a great outlet.

I am also really passionate about planning parties that are fun and engaging for the kids.  Nothing ruins a party more than wild, unruly kids.  That usually happens when they don’t have enough to do.  I think teachers turned moms truly understand that and so our parties go beyond the fancy cakes you might normally see on a party blog.  We know we can’t gauge the success of a child’s birthday party by how pretty the cake and the tablescape is, but instead we look at how involved and entertained the kids were. And of course, how much the kids are smiling and talking about the party afterwards! =)

Creative teachers turned moms plan the best birthday parties filled with fun, engaging activities! Now don’t get me wrong, some of these cakes and decorations in these posts are unbelievable!! But I think Teacher Moms realize all those things are the “extras”, not the key to how much the children enjoy themselves. So, keep reading for some of the most creative themed birthday parties planned by Teacher Mamas (meaning they are teachers currently or were in the past, including homeschooling ones).  Oh and a reminder, not every party planned by a teacher will have a lot of beautiful, posed photographs either.  As I say in all my own party posts, we are often so busy running the party that there isn’t time to get nice pictures with props and good lighting! Oh and the ones that do manage to pull it off? I will be emailing them soon to find out their tricks!

Creative teachers turned moms plan the best birthday parties filled with fun, engaging activities!**Disclaimer: You don’t have to be a teacher to throw a great birthday party! Please don’t think I am saying that teachers throw better children’s birthday parties than other moms.  I know tons of amazing moms who throw spectacular parties that have no training in education whatsoever.  I wrote this post after I made a simple observation in one of my kid blogging groups that a lot of us with backgrounds in education, really enjoy planning more elaborate themed parties for kids.  I promise that’s it- no offense meant at all, so please don’t take any! =)
